Well, we dont go back many years. And I just met your man via Twitter. But the reason we are so tight, it that the big man, Mr. Brogan, is my pal, and if you are hanging with Justin, and Justin hangs with Mr. Brogan, then that makes us friends-in-law-via-twitter-via-Jeff Pulver, where I actually met Mr. Brogan. So all this to say is that there is nothing like family. And speaking of family, Passover is coming up in the Spring and so I just needed to know if we are doing Seder at your house, Justin's house or mine. We have plenty of time, but since I live in Texas and ya'all are in Mass., and the economy has gone south, we should really start thinking about airfares and all. Oh- the wedding. I know this is a bit much, but I was asked to give Justin away. I know this is something your Dad is supposed to do for you, but hey, we're family, this is social media, and we're all so totally different, so I am sure you are OK with this- right.
OMG- the wedding.... is Chris playing guitar there? We have not addressed this matter, but I am sure it can be resolved.
Children? Well, I got two of my own, and I think you guys should really hop to it (so to speak) after you are married. I mean, after all, it's not my business to tell you what to do and how to rush into these things, but since we are family and all, well---- I am not getting much younger and I want to see grandchildren.

For what it's worth, my boyfriend's birthday is Christmas Eve, and he also is not big on social media, so you're in good company!
Happy Birthday to Laura. And a note to Justin: my Significant Other *also* wants nothing to do with Twitter, Facebook, etc. She doesn't even have an internet connection or a TV at her place! And no landline either -- just a cell phone. So, given how uber-connected how I am, this serves as a sort of balance in our relationship.

Laura, I know that we have never met or will never meet but I wanted to take a few min out of my day to wish you happy birthday wishes. How did I come across this blog post you might ask? Okay, I'm not trying Seesmic anymore. Just got home from the hospital, realized I needed to send along birthday wishes, am all wound up in my cranky pants and I'm not fighting with video that shuts my browser down.
But then again, Laura, you know all about my cranky pants, right? (Ixnay on the ideosvay from egasvay ... he'll never know! ... Wait ... picturing one last time ... ahhh ... okay, done. He'll never know.)
Perhaps the most depressing thing about your birthday is that you're not knocking 'em back with me, but then again. That can be arranged. But just in case you don't want to get any of the Fallsman on ya for this birthday, here's the next best thing.
In a mixing glass (or if you have it, a sterling silver snifter) and over ice, put two parts sugar water (boiled but cooled) and one to one and a half parts Maker's Mark. Get a mint spring and cut it about 1/2 inch from the rim. Stir lightly with the mint sprig. Serve to friends, telling them to leave the sprig slightly to the side of their nose while sipping, that way they get the full julep effect when tasting.
Now pour yourself a glass of Maker's straight and call them all sissies.

But then again, Laura, you know all about my cranky pants, right? (Ixnay on the ideosvay from egasvay ... he'll never know! ... Wait ... picturing one last time ... ahhh ... okay, done. He'll never know.)
Perhaps the most depressing thing about your birthday is that you're not knocking 'em back with me, but then again. That can be arranged. But just in case you don't want to get any of the Fallsman on ya for this birthday, here's the next best thing.
In a mixing glass (or if you have it, a sterling silver snifter) and over ice, put two parts sugar water (boiled but cooled) and one to one and a half parts Maker's Mark. Get a mint spring and cut it about 1/2 inch from the rim. Stir lightly with the mint sprig. Serve to friends, telling them to leave the sprig slightly to the side of their nose while sipping, that way they get the full julep effect when tasting.
Now pour yourself a glass of Maker's straight and call them all sissies.
